I have a hot take: red is the best color for your nails year-round. I am so tired of seeing all the red nail polish slander!
If you are anything like me, you are doing your nails religiously. Getting your nails done is supposed to be a relaxing experience of self-care, so why are we making it feel like a chore? When you get your nails done every two weeks for years like me, you’re constantly looking for new trends, new inspiration, and eventually you just run out of Pinterest pictures to recreate.
Instead of always looking for the next best thing, what if we went back to the basics? That’s what I did! Unless I have a specific occasion, my nails are always red. Before you start in on the “that’s a Christmas color!” take a deep breath.
Red is the most timeless and universal color there is. Most people don’t associate red with Christmas. They associate it with love, fiery women, and passion. Red nail polish has been used since 3,000 B.C. That’s 5,000 years ago! Red has become a quintessential shade and has withstood all the changes in culture because it is so universal. Plus, it matches everything!
Literally everyone looks good in red. I know you’re thinking, “Well, I don’t!” You are just wrong (I’m not sorry). Whether you’re cool-toned and need a blue-red, warm-toned and need an orange-red, or blessed by your God to be neutral-toned and can do both, red works for you. And it really works!
Red is an inherently sexy color. That is why it has always been a cornerstone of high fashion. Whether you like it or not, high fashion is what guides our entire industry. Every year we get new fashion shows where the trends trickle down to us. Fashion shows every year, in every season, are full of various shades of red.
I don’t know about you, but I love to simplify my life. Every minute used to search Pinterest for my next set of nails is less minutes I have to write these important blogs for you. 😉 Trust me – I have much more fun doing the blogs!
